About Us

Whiteside County Animal Control is a branch office of the Whiteside County Health Department. Animal Control consists of the Animal Control Warden, 3 full-time officers, and a secretary who are responsible for enforcing animal ordinances for the County of Whiteside in Illinois. Animal Control Officers (ACOs) respond to calls for animal complaints such as:

dogs running at large

rabies control and animal bites

animal cruelty/neglect

dangerous/vicious dogs

livestock kills

In addition, the ACOs handle calls relating to horses, cattle, and all domestic/pet animals.

Daily duties include investigations, reporting, issuing citations and warnings, and patrolling. Their presence within the community provides public education as well as enforcement.
